I qualified as a counsellor with a Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling in 2012, having done some prize winning research on depression, presented at the BACP Conference. I also did a Post Graduate Certificate in Gender Sexuality and Culture, to further enhance my interest in Gender.

I volunteered as a counsellor for over eight years with different organisations including London Friend, an LGBTIQ+ and addictions charity, The Women and Girls Network, the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard, Step Forward, a young people's organisation and The Place2Be, a play based project in schools .

I have a lot of experience as a counsellor working with people of all ages and helping them to explore identity, including gender and sexuality and navigating internalised phobias and introjects. I have written articles on mental health and race/whiteness for Diva magazine. I have also worked for the Safer London Foundation and specialised in advocacy for people who have experienced sexual violence, neglect and abuse.

I have been in private practice as a counsellor for twelve years. I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics, though I am also somewhat critical of their approach to regulation in recent years. My way of working is client led and holistic with a focus on creative ways of exploring meaning and I also work with reference to ancestors, heritage, metaphor, symbolism, and narratives or scripts.

I have also trained as a clinical supervisor and offer supervision.
